2018 Leeuwarden AB - The Netherlands

Frisian Flag is an annually held international exercise from which aircraft operate from Leeuwarden Airbase. This exercise is used to train different offensive and defensive tactics as well as Air-to-Air Refueling and combined air operations.

This particular day which i attended had a morning wave which consisted of 16 Dutch F16's, 10 Spanish Hornets, 5 American Eagles as well as 4 Mirage 2000's, 5 Rafales, 6 Eurofighters, 2 MiG29's and 4 Polish Block 52 F16C's. Which is a remarkable number of fighters for a Dutch/European exercise in this era of defense cuts.
